What this tool does
Scale by area, not by diameter: a 24 cm tin is only a fifth wider than a 20 cm one but holds forty-four percent more. Leave the square fields at zero for round tins, or fill one to convert between round and square. Batter depth stays roughly the same, so baking time changes less than the quantity does — start checking early.
