Centrifugal Force Calculator

Force on a rotating mass, in newtons, kilogram-force and g.

Results

Centrifugal force 59,217.6 N
Force 6038.5 kgf
Acceleration 3019.26 g
Speed 94.25 m/s

What this tool does

Force grows with the square of the rotational speed, which is why a small unbalance that is harmless at 500 rpm becomes destructive at 3000. Two grams out of balance at the rim of a car wheel is enough to feel through the steering.

Formula

F = m × ω² × r

Limitations

  • The formula assumes ideal conditions: no friction losses, no air resistance and no efficiency losses unless you enter them.
  • For work that must comply with a standard or be signed off, check the result against the applicable code and have it reviewed by a qualified engineer.
