What this tool does

This converter deliberately fetches nothing. Exchange rates move every minute, a page that carried a table of them would only be able to lie, and a page that called somebody's API would stop working the day that API changed its mind. So the rate is the one you type — off your bank's screen, off the bureau's board, off a news site — and the result is exactly as current as that number. What the tool adds to a multiplication is the margin. Almost nobody exchanges money at the mid-market rate you see quoted; the gap between that rate and the one you are actually given is the fee, whether or not anyone calls it one, and putting a percentage in that field turns it into money.

Formula

received = amount × rate × (1 − margin ÷ 100)

Limitations

  • The rate is the one you type. Nothing is fetched from the internet, so the result is exactly as current as the number you entered.
  • This is an informational calculator, not personalised financial advice. Rates, fees, taxes and contract conditions vary between institutions and countries.
  • The calculation runs at full precision and only the display is rounded. If you copy an intermediate value and retype it, small differences can appear.
