What this tool does

The fuel is the part everyone works out and the part that is often not the biggest. A long motorway run can cost more in tolls than in diesel, and a weekend in a city can add a parking bill nobody budgeted for. Put in the distance, what the car drinks per hundred kilometres and what the fuel costs, then add the tolls and anything you will pay to leave the car somewhere. The total comes back split per person, which is what you actually need when three of you are sharing.

cost = distance ÷ 100 × consumption × price + tolls + parking
