What this tool does

Wallpaper is bought in whole rolls and hung in whole drops, so the useful question is how many full drops fit in a roll. Papers with a large repeating pattern waste part of every drop and usually need one or two extra rolls.

Formula

strips per roll = roll length ÷ height; rolls = needed strips ÷ strips per roll

• Always order a little more material than the calculated quantity. Cuts, breakage and pattern matching create waste that depends on the shape of the job.
• The result is an estimate based only on the values you type. Real situations often include factors this calculator does not know about.
