OEE Calculator

Overall equipment effectiveness with its three factors: availability, performance and quality.

Results

OEE 76.39 %
Availability 90.21 %
Performance 86.61 %
Quality 97.78 %

What this tool does

OEE compresses three separate losses into one number, which is useful for tracking a trend and useless for finding a cause. Always read the three factors underneath it: the same 62 % can be a reliability problem, a speed problem or a scrap problem.

Formula

OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality

Limitations

  • For work that must comply with a standard or be signed off, check the result against the applicable code and have it reviewed by a qualified engineer.
  • The result is an estimate based only on the values you type. Real situations often include factors this calculator does not know about.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a good OEE?

The figures most often quoted are 85 % as world class for discrete manufacturing and around 60 % as typical, but they only mean something when the three factors are measured consistently. A plant that excludes planned maintenance from planned time will always look better than one that does not, without producing a single extra part.
