What this tool does
The defaults are a reasonable starting point for a sit-down meal: about 200 g of meat or main, 250 g of sides and a piece of bread each. A standing buffet needs less of the main and more of everything small, and children eat roughly half. The margin is there because running out is far worse than having leftovers.
