What this tool does
Activity counts how many nuclei decay per second, and the becquerel is simply one decay per second. The older curie is enormous by comparison — 37 billion becquerel, a figure chosen because it is roughly the activity of a gram of radium — which is why laboratory sources are usually quoted in microcurie or megabecquerel rather than in the base units. The conversion is exact by definition, so nothing here is approximate.
