What this tool does
Bitrate recommendations are guesses dressed as facts, because the right number depends on the codec, the content and what you consider acceptable. What is not a guess is bits per pixel: bitrate divided by pixels per second. That single number is what quality actually means here, and it lets you carry a setting that worked at 1080p across to 4K honestly — same bits per pixel, four times the bitrate. **Set the bits per pixel from a file you already trust**, rather than taking a table's word for it.
