What this tool does
Force in SI is the newton, but shop-floor practice and older drawings still speak in kilogram-force: the force that one kilogram exerts under standard gravity, 9.80665 newtons. Load cells, hydraulic cylinders and crane charts mix all of these freely. Note that kgf is a force and kg is a mass; the numbers differ by a factor of about 9.81, and confusing them is a common and expensive mistake.
