What this tool does
Pressure in a static liquid depends only on depth, density and gravity — not on the shape or width of the container. Roughly every ten metres of water adds one bar, which is why divers and tank designers use that rule of thumb.
Formula
p = ρ × g × h
Variables
| Symbol | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
h | Depth | m |
d | Density | kg/m³ |
gv | Gravitational acceleration | m/s² |
P | Pressure | bar |
PA | Pressure | Pa |
PT | Pressure | bar |

Limitations
- The formula assumes ideal conditions: no friction losses, no air resistance and no efficiency losses unless you enter them.
- Mixing units is the most common source of error. Convert every input to the units shown next to each field before calculating.
