What this tool does
Measure the waist at its narrowest point and the hips at the widest, standing relaxed and breathing out normally — holding the tape tight or holding your breath changes the answer more than most real differences do. The World Health Organization has cited 0.90 for men and 0.85 for women as thresholds above which abdominal obesity is indicated; the last two results show what waist those would mean for your hip measurement.
